This symposium is organized by United Nations University Institute of Advanced Studies (UNU-IAS) and the newly established United Nations University Institute for Sustainability and Peace (UNU-ISP). The aim of this symposium is to first address sustainability challenges in Africa and the livelihoods of its people in the upcoming decades and secondly, it aims to explore key higher education and sustainability questions, also serving to share experience and knowledge among African and Japanese universities.
